Frank Lombard Gets 27 Years In Prison

Commentary: Funny how they don't mention the adoption of children by Lombard to molest, or his homosexuality, not to mention just how far the buried this story in the N&O......................

Frank Lombard, a former Duke University researcher, was sentenced in a Washington, D.C., federal court on Monday to more than 27 years in prison for producing child pornography.

Lombard, 43, pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor in December.

Under the terms of his plea agreement, Lombard admitted to streaming a live pornographic image of himself and his adopted 5-year-old son to another Internet user. The boy was one of two adopted sons living with Lombard.

Court filings following Lombard's arrest last summer revealed that he offered the boy up for sex with a person he met online. That person was an undercover police officer. When he was arrested, authorities found child pornography materials in Lombard's home, and he admitted that he had engaged in sexual contact with his adopted son, according to the FBI.

Lombard had worked at Duke since 1999 and was associate director of the university's Center for Health Policy. He no longer works for Duke.

Lombard faced a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30. Following his release from prison, he will be required to register as a sex offender and remain on probation the rest of his life.
