Man Dies At Chapel Hill Homeless Shelter
A man who was staying at the shelter for the homeless at 100 W. Rosemary St. died in his sleep, according to police.
The man, identified as Stephen Christopher Barber, 45, was found dead by his roommate at the shelter Monday morning, said Lt. Kevin Gunter of the Chapel Hill Police Department.
"His roommate went to wake him up about 5:30. He said he's normally up by then," Gunter said.
There was no evidence of foul play, and he did not report he was sick, Gunter said.
The medical examiner will perform an autopsy.
